Padma Bhushan Gulzar has been enchanting his fans for more than 5 decades turned 83 today. Sampoorna Singh Kalra who is popularly known by his pen name Gulzar, was born in Jhelum district, which is now in Pakistan. He began his career as a lyricist in the year 1963 from the film Bandini. In his illustrious career, he has directed many landmark films such as Mausam, Aandhi, Maachis, Parichay, Namkeen, Kitaab and many more. For writing beautiful poetry, dialogues and scripts, he has won several awards including National Film Awards, Filmfare Awards, an Oscar and a Grammy Award.
