Om Shanti Om completes 10 years a look back at Shah Rukh Khan Deepika Padukone starrer Farah Khan
It was November 9, 200, and movie lovers all over the country went gaga as Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om hit the screens with much grandeur and zeal across India. While fans were on cloud nine watching their romantic hero Shah Rukh Khan on the silver screen yet again, debutant Deepika Padukone left no stone unturned to steal the show. Moreover, it was the first time ever in the history of Indian cinema that forty-two well-known Hindi movie stars appear in the course of the film, including thirty of them in one song alone. Set against the backdrop of the 1970s and 2000s, Om Shanti Om pays tribute to the Indian film industry of both these eras. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, the movie features Arjun Rampal, Shreyas Talpade, and Kirron Kher in supporting roles. Interestingly, it was the same day when Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya got released and both the flicks clashed at the box office. While Om Shanti Om became the highest-grossing Hindi film at the time of its release, Saawariya failed to attract audiences. However, since then there has been no looking back for Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor who made their Bollywood debut with these flicks.
The filmmaker has also been seen striking poses with Deepika at the airport on Wednesday and both the ladies were on top of of the world as the film completes a decade on Thursday.
Besides Farah and Deepika, fans and stars all over the country took to Twitter to share some of the heart melting moments from the picture which they want relive again again.
Apart from 'Ajab Si', 'Main Agar kahoon' is one of the most loving songs from the picture and the romantic number have not lost its fandom till the time.
