Priyanka Chopra to Hema Malini: Bollywood’s female cops
Not all movies revolve around the male characters. Not all Indian actresses do the role where a male is lead. Here are some of the examples where Indian actresses broke the stereotypes and did the role of fierce cop.
Tabu, the steel actress of B-town, did an intense role of woman police officer in ‘Drishyam’. She played a character which is going throught the dilemma of being a mother on one hand and being a police officer on the other.
Many find the title of this movie a bit sexist but Rani Mukerji broke all stereotypes with her bold character ‘Mardaani.’ In this Pradeep Sarkar’s production, audience was also surprised to see a female character doing action packed scenes.
Bipasha Basu did a double role in ‘Dhoom 2’. The actress was applauded for her short but pivotal act as a cop.
Director Tatineni Rama Rao’s ‘Andha Kanoon’ is prominently known for the unique pairing of Amitabh Bachchan-Rajinikanth and the title song.
