Rita Bhaduri passes away at 62 Some unknown facts about the veteran actress
Film industry’s one of the favourite ‘Maa’ Rita Bhaduri passed away on Tuesday morning. She was suffering from kidney ailment for a long time. It is also reported that she was admitted in ICU for the last 10 days. Senior actor Shishir Sharma confirmed the news of her death on Tuesday morning.
Rita was active in the film industry since last four decades. Apart from films, she has also worked in several television series. She made her Bollywood debut with 1968 flick ‘Teri Talash Mein’.
After that she played lead roles in films like Julie, Anurodh, Saawan Ko Aane Do, Gopal Krishna and Aai Milan Ki Raat.
In the year 1995, Rita received Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Role for the film ‘Raja’. In the film Julie (1975), she played the role of Julie’s best friend and one of the famous song of the film was also picturised on her ‘Ye Raat Nai Purani’.
Rita took her training in acting from FTII in the year 1973. Aditya Pancholi’s wife Zareena Wahab and Rita Bhaduri were batch mate.
Recently, she was playing the role of Imravati Devi in a television series titled ‘Nimki Mukhiya’.
People had always mistake her as Jaya Bachchan’s sister because of the same surname. In an interview in 2011 she said, ‘’Last time when I visited Jaipur, someone asked me that if I am Jaya Bhaduri’s sister which made me very angry’’.
‘’I have in the industry for so long now but people still don’t know that we don’t have any connection. People always make mistake by thinking that we are sisters. But its OK, it doesn’t bother me anymore’’, she added.
