Women's Day Captain Marvel hits theatres across India: Before Brie Larson these stunners almost played Carol Danvers
Shootout to Indian theaters for releasing Captain Marvel on International Women's Day! Brie Larson's role as Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel fits the bill of a women strong, fierce, resilient and determination of a woman. While we are more than happy to see Academy Award winner Brie Larson as the first ever Marvel female character with her own starring vehicle there were lists of actors who had vied for the female superhero. From Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lawrence, Emily Blunt these were some 'abled' Hollywood A-listers who almost played the badass superhero:
Jennifer Lawrence: She already plays Mystic in the superhero X-Men franchise, so yes another superhero role? Definitely!
Katheryn Winnick: With her overpowering role as Lagertha Lothbrok, the wife of the Norse legend, Ragnar, it is obvious why one could see her why there were rumours that she might be in the shoes of the superhero.
Emily Blunt: She might be the beloved nanny Mary Poppins, but given her impressive acting skills there were talks that she was in for the action heavy performance.
Charlize Theron: Anyone who have seen Mad Max: Fury Road can vouch that Theron is definitely the 'it' actor as Captain Marvel
Natalie Dormer: Fans who were overwhelmingly impressed with her role as Queen Margaery in GOT felt that her small role in Captain America: The First Avenger makes her the 'fitting' superhero.
