This is not the first time religion played an active role in paving career path for an actress. From Vinod Khanna to Sofia Hayat, a surprising slew of Bollywood notables who were at the peak of their career have admitted to wanting to disassociate themselves from glamour and glitz to traverse the spiritual way!
Dangal star Zaira Wasim sent Bollywood into shock mode as she announced her decision to quit Bollywood with a long Instagram post . What raised more eyebrows is the reason that she cited, that her line of work interfered with her faith and religion. This obviously did not go well with many Bollywood biggies who slammed her for her views.
Vinod Khanna: In the early 1980s, he moved to Rajneeshpuram, Osho's commune in the United States, for about five years, cleaning dishes and working as Osho's gardener by the name of Swami Vinod Bharti. But he later got back to the silver screen and continued the good work.

Sofia Hayat: Former Bigg Boss contestant and model Sofia Hayat became a nun, and goes by the name Mother Sofia now. Sofia, who was seen in the seventh season of Bigg Boss, posted a message on her Instagram account that indicated a change in heart. "We are beautiful without makeup...hair colour...fashion... We are perfect as we are. I'm sorry I gave you the impression otherwise. I am changed. I love you all. Gaia Sofia Mother." However she went back to her original self in a few months to announce her movie.
Anu Aggarwal : This actress rose to prominense with romantic drama Aashiqui and was on her way to making it big in tinsel town. She sadly met with a major accident that turned her life around and post recovery she devoted much of her time to a yogashram.
