Inside World’s Best Hotel Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur!
The Umaid Bhawan Palace of Jodhpur has won the world’s best hotel award for the year 2016.
Trip Advisor, considered one of the world’s largest travel advisor companies, chose the famous Umaid Bhawan Palace based on the reviews by the hotel’s guests.
“It is due to the unflinching support of Jodhpur’s Maharaja Gaj Singhji and the hard work of our entire team that we succeeded in achieving this honour,†Vincent Ramos, General Manager, Umaid Bhawan Palace said.
He said that it was a matter of great honour and pride for not only Jodhpur but the entire nation that a heritage hotel has been chosen as the ‘best hotel in the world’.
The palace was built between 1928 and 1943 for the Maharaja of Jodhpur Umaid Singh.
The lawn was imported specially from Africa because it can withstand four and 40 degree heat.
The majority of the guests are given their own personal butler. Luxury isn't it?
The 347-room building has been used as the principal residence of the Jodhpur royal family ever since.
The tourists can ask their butler to drive them into Jodhpur in one of the vintage cars owned by the Maharaja, which include a Rolls Royce Silver Ghost.
As expected the food and drink is off the scale.
Guests can take a tour of the palace with a glass of champagne, to learn all about the history.
