Mother Teresa's inspiring quotes on her 108th Birth Anniversary
Mother Teresa, a nun and missionary, devoted her life caring for the sick and abode. She was born in Macedonia to parents of Albanian descent. Mother Teresa was married to devotion and bestowed with a profound wisdom of love and care. Her tremendous brevity, insightful and inspiring words still echo and restore humanity from time and again. Having taught in India for 17 years, Mother Teresa experienced her “call within a call†in 1946. Her order established a hospice; centers for the blind, aged and disabled; and a leper colony. In 1979 she received the Nobel Peace Prize for her humanitarian work. She died in September 1997 and was beatified in October 2003. In December 2015, Pope Francis recognised a second miracle attributed to Mother Teresa, clearing the way for her to be canonised on September 4, 2016. Memorialising the nun on her 108th birth anniversary, here are some of her inspiring quotes.
“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.â€
“Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.â€
“Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in you smile.â€
“Live simply so others may simply live.â€
“The hunger for love is much more difficult to remove than the hunger for bread.â€
