Maharashtra Opinion Poll: Modi remains most preferred prime ministerial candidate
Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections 2019, News Nation conducted a survey to find out the mood of the people in Maharashtra. In an apparent "Modi versus Rest" showdown, Narendra Modi appears to be the most preferred prime ministerial candidate with 50 per cent vote share, shows the Opinion Poll. Rahul Gandhi is at distant second position with 34 per cent votes.
BJP-Shiv Sena alliance is expected to win 33 seats in Maharashtra with a vote share of 39 per cent in the Lok Sabha elections 2019, while the Congress-NCP alliance may improve its tally by bagging 15 seats with 34 per cent votes, according to the News Nation national opinion poll.
The BJP and the Uddhav Thackeray-led party has announced to contest the ensuing Lok Sabha and Maharashtra assembly elections together. As per the seat-sharing agreement, the BJP will contest 25 seats and Shiv Sena 23 of 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra. At present, Sena has 18 MPs in Lok Sabha, its biggest tally since its inception.
The Congress and the NCP has announced their seat-sharing pact in Maharashtra with the two parties agreeing to contest 26 and 22 seats respectively. Both the parties have left two seats each for smaller their alliance partners.
