West Bengal Opinion Poll: Modi vs Didi - Who will win big in Lok Sabha Elections 2019?
From the CBI-Kolkata Police face-off to the state government's repeated denials to the BJP's Rath Yatra and several other saffron rallies, West Bengal has become a Modi vs Mamata battle ground, months before the General Elections 2019. As political ardour is gaining pace ahead of the Lok Sabha polls across India, News Nation has conducted a poll survey to gauge the voting intention in West Bengal. Our team travelled across all the 42 Lok Sabha constituencies all over the state and asked people several questions to find out who will have the better chance to steal the show in 2019. The factors which are likely to impact the upcoming Lok Sabha polls 2019, include the list of achievements and developmental works of the Centre and state government, the top choice for the PM's post, unemployment, inflation, Naxalism, corruption, illegal migrants, communalism and Gorkhaland among others. Will Banerjee be able to retain her power in West Bengal or the political juggernaut of the Narendra Modi government will win big in the upcoming General Elections 2019. As per the News Nation poll survey in West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress (TMC) is projected to get 31 seats where as the BJP and the Congress are likely to bag a total of 7 and 2 seats respectively. Left Front can get only 2 seats in Lok Sabha Elections 2019.
When it comes to the most favourable prime ministerial candidate in 2019 Lok Sabha polls, West Bengal chose Narendra Modi with 31 per cent votes. However, 17 per cent people in the state said they want Congress president Rahul Gandhi to run the country.
41 per cent people in the state say they are not satisfied with the performance of the Mamata Banerjee government in the state. However, 40 per cent people are still happy with the incumbent TMC government. Talking about the NDA government at the Centre, 51 per cent people in West Bengal say they are not satisfied with the Narendra Modi government.
According to 19% people of the state, basic infrastructure will be the main issue in 2019 Lok Sabha elections, followed by Unemployment (17%), Inflation (12%), Naxalism (11%), Corruption (9%), Illegal migrants (7%), Stable government (5%), Communalism (4%) among others.
Being asked which party will better address their issues, 36 per cent chose Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress while 21 per cent say BJP is better suited to tackle their issues.
