After misery at bank counters, people make beeline for ATM booth
More than two lakh cash machines (ATMs) across the country have started dispensing new currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 from Friday following PM Narendra Modi's announcement that Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes would cease to be legal tender.And just like the banks, the restoration of ATM services could also lead to chaotic scenes considering a heavy footfall that has been anticipated in the past two days.The banks have announced a slew of measures, including extension of banking hours, doing away with ATM charges and expanding credit limits.
