With heavy rains causing havoc in the capital and other parts of Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has ordered officials to set up control rooms in all the districts to reach out to marooned people with necessary relief.

In Telangana, a holiday has been declared for all educational institutional for Friday and Saturday in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts due to heavy rains.

The Telangana government on Friday asked IT companies to allow their employees in the city to work from home so as to avoid venturing out in view of incessant rains here for past two days, even as help has been sought from the Army for rescue operation in some areas.

The authorities have closed down Mumbai-Goa highway following waterlogging caused by heavy rains in coastal Konkan region, traffic will be diverted.

Three people were killed in Visakhapatnam district, where one died in house collapse whereas two others were washed away in flood, six people have died in Guntur district and three others killed in Visakhapatnam. Five people died on Thursday in separate rain-related incidents in Guntur.
