In Pictures: Light rains lash parts of Delhi, pleasant weather forecast for Saturday
Light rains lashed parts of the national capital on Friday, giving Delhiites the much-needed relief from the sweltering heat. The maximum temperature was recorded at 37 degrees Celsius, three notches below the normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 24 degrees Celsius, two notches below the normal. Apart from the capital city, several other parts of the country, including Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan were also hit by rain and hailstorm this evening. For Saturday, the weatherman has forecast pleasant weather with the possibility of thunderstorm accompanied with very light rains and gusty winds. Monsoon rains, the lifeblood for India's agriculture-dependent economy, is expected to arrive on India's southern coast by June 4 and cause less than average rainfall.
