India marks its 69th Republic Day on Friday. The celebrations began with the flag-hoisting ceremony by President Ram Nath Kovind, after which the Republic Day parade started from Rajpath at 9.50 am. This is the first time that the Republic Day celebrations had 10 chief guests from Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and Brunei.
