People from North-East are have been discriminated for years , will this ever be stopped?
The mysterious death of Loitam Richard in Bangalore, the murder of Ramchanphy Hongray in New Delhi, the suicide by Dana Sangma are some cases which were highlighted by media and drew large protests across the country.
The number of Northeasterners now living in Delhi is estimated to be at least 200,000.
The North East Students' Organisation (NESO) and some other NGOs have been the front runners in these protests.

Since Taniam's death, leading politicians such as Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal have expressed their support to the community and protests.
The number of Northeasterners residing in Delhi is estimated to be at least 200,000. They are here for work and education just like South-Indians or anyone else living outside his native land.
Northeastern women become targets of sexual violence as they are widely perceived as westernised and open-cultured.
During the latest protests slogans like, "We are not outsiders", "We are Indians too", "I am not a Chinese" and "I am an Indian and you have to admit" were written and shouted by the north-Indians.
