Republic Day 2017 Skill India Beti Bachao Beti Padhao themes for 26 January tableaux
Social awareness programmes, like the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ initiative, will be showcased through Haryana’s tableau.
India is getting itself ready to celebrate 68th Republic Day on the 26th of this month. Colorful tableaus, parades, march pasts will fill the air in Rajpath, New Delhi on Thursday.
Before the parade commander leads the entourage, four helicopters of the Indian Air Force will fly-past the President and the Chief Guest carrying the national flag and the flags of the three services. The helicopters will also shower flower petals on those seated below.
Developmental and social schemes including Goods and Services Tax (GST) and ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ of the Narendra Modi-led government will be showcased through tableaux at the 68th Republic Day parade.
A total of 23 tableaux would be on display at the ceremonial parade with 17 of them belonging to various states and Union Territories.
Delhi’s tableau, which will be part of the parade after three years, has been set up as a model government school to portray the transformation in state-run schools and the recent initiatives taken by the government in the education sector.
Arunachal’s Yak dance, Karnataka’s folk dances, Tamil Nadu’s dance ‘Karakattam’ and Tripura’s tribal dance ‘Hojagiri’ will be represented in the tableau of the respective states, while Punjab will showcase “Jago Aiya”.
