Solar eclipse in different parts of the world
A total solar eclipse sweeping across the vast Indonesian archipelago on Wednesday was witnessed by hordes of sky gazers. This is country’s first total solar eclipse in nearly 33 years. Indonesia last witnessed a solar eclipse in 1983 and will reportedly have to wait for another 33 years for the next eclipse. Scientists have also flocked Indonesia for the eclipse. Here the moon covered only a small portion of the sun. The total phase of the eclipse was however not visible in Bandar Seri Begawan.
Vietnam also witnessed a partial solar eclipse as seen from a Saigonese townhouse, through a passing cloud.
Thailand also had partial solar eclipse. Skywatchers in Southeast Asia were being treated to a special celestial show today.
