Ronaldo became Manchester United's first-ever Portuguese player when he signed before the 2003–04 season. His transfer fee of £12.24 million made him, at the time, the most expensive teenager in English football history. He donned the legendary number 7 jersey and went to become one of the greatest player in Old Trafford's history
At age 16, Ronaldo was promoted from Sporting's youth team by first-team manager László Bölöni, who was impressed with his dribbling. Ronaldo made his debut in the Primeira Liga, against Moreirense, and scored two goals in their 3–0 win.
Ahead of the 2009–10 season, Ronaldo joined Real Madrid for a world record transfer fee of £80 million (€94 million).
The Portugese star has had the honour of lifting the coveted trophy for three times in his career. He won UCL with Manchester United in 2008 and then with Real Madrid in 2014 and 2016.
Ronaldo won his fourth Ballon d’Or after a prolific season with the club and national team. Earlier the Galactico had won this prestigious award in 2008, 2013 and 2014.
The Charismatic forward won the most awaited trophy of his career with his national team as Portugal defeated France 1-0 in a nail biting thriller to claim Euro Cup 2016.
