Roger Federer was born in Basel, Switzerland in 1981 and was among the country’s top young talent by the age of 11. After turning pro in 1998, Federer won his first Wimbledon in 2003 as he became the first Swiss personality to win a Singles Grand Slam title. The Swiss legend is often touted as one of the greatest tennis players in history.
The Swiss Tennis megastar won his record-smashing eighth Wimbledon title at the age of 35 in July 2017. He has won a total of 20 Grand Slam title, making him the record-setter in the world of Tennis.
Federer married former professional tennis player Mirka Vavrinec in 2009 in Riehen near Basel. The couple became the parents of twin girls, Charlene and Myla and later on 2014, the couple was blessed by their second set of twins, this time boys Lenny and Leo.
Federer, just at the age of 14 became the national junior champion in Switzerland and later got picked to train at the Swiss National Tennis Center in Ecublens and bagged his first sponsorship by the age of 16.
Federer established the Roger Federer Foundation in 2003 to provide support to poor countries that have child mortality rates of more than 15 per cent, for sports, education and others.
Federer takes home a $70 million per year and has a total net worth of $450 million (estimated), as per Celebrity Net Worth, and is one of the most marketable sports personalities in the world.
