India vs Pakistan Five EPIC Asia Cup encounters
One of the greatest arch-rivals in the history of cricket are India and Pakistan. The match between these two teams is not just a game of cricket but matter of pride for the fans on both the sides. Even during the match, the rivalry can be felt with each ball and every run scored. On Tuesday, the schedule of 2018 Asia Cup was released where India and Pakistan to face each other on September 19 in Dubai. Sharjah (1984) – After thrashing two-time world champions West Indies in the World Cup final, team India faced Pakistan at the Rothmans Asia Cup in Sharjah. Like the World Cup finals, team India could only score 188 on board, but with superb fielding and bowling, the team manages to clinch the match in their favour.
Sharjah (1995) – During this time, Sharjah was considered as Pakistan’s second home ground and team India was really stubbed out by Pakistan bowlers at 169. However, Indian team managed to win the Asia Cup defeating Sri Lanka in the Finals.
Dambulla (2010) – in the match, Pakistan put handsome 267 runs on board but it was Gautam Gambhir’s powerful knock of 83 gave India a comfortable win. Additionally, India went on to become Asia Cup champions for the fifth time beating Sri Lanka by 81 runs in the finals.
Mirpur (2012) – in the match, Pakistan’s Nasir Jamshed 112 knock helped them to put huge total on board. But, it was Virat Kohli’s day who smashed 183 runs on board for the team to achieve the huge target in the 48th over itself.
Dhaka (2014) – The match was one of the most exciting one of all-time. The match took place at Mirpur where Indian side manage to score 245 runs on board but it was Mohammed Hafeez, whose 75 run knock and Shahid Afridi’s boom-boom two sixes to finish the game.
