German automaker Volkswagen is all set to launch its new generation Passat today in India. The new VW Passat was first unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, it’s taken nearly three years to come to India. It aims to create a localised a version of its MQB A0 platform to give it the cost advantage. The new generation of the Passat is just a new avtaar in terms of looks but also features and technology on offer. Here’s all we know about the Passat that’s launching in India.a. After teasing, it for a very long time now, the company has started its production at their Aurangabad plant. This sedan will compete against the Skoda Superb, Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry in the premium sedan segment in India. Here is all you need to know about New-Gen VW:
The 2017 VW Passat will be powered by a 175bhp 2.0-litre TDI diesel mill mated to their six-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
Also, the sedan comes with new Park Assist, Head-Up Display (HUD) unit and with new safety features on board.
Touchscreen infotainment system will also be attached to the centre console with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The GTE plug-in hybrid in the global market gets a 113bhp electric motor and a 154bhp 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol unit. The combination produces a power output of 215bhp and 400Nm of torque, while VW has confirmed that this version qualifies for the EU 6 emission norms as well.
