August- 2017 has been recorded as the second warmest August in the last 137 years of modern record-keeping, according to scientists of NASA.
NASA said, The measured value is consistent with the trend in global average surface temperatures that has been observed during the past few decades.
According to the scientists of NASA August-2017 was o.85 degrees warmer than the temperatures recorded during this month between 1951 and 1980.
The August-2017 temperature was surpassed by August 2016, which was affected by 2015-2016 El Nino and was 0.99 degrees Celsius warmer than normal, according to US space agency.
NASA collects the monthly analysis by Goddard Institute of Space Studies (GISS) in the US. GISS is assembled from publicly available data acquired by about 6,300 meteorological stations around the globe, ship and buoy-bases instruments measuring sea surface temperature and Antarctic research stations.
