NASA Has Scheduled The Spacewalk For Astronauts Nick Hague And Andrew Morgan To Install A New Docking Adapter On The International Space Station’s (ISS) Harmony Module Today
NASA has scheduled the spacewalk for astronauts Nick Hague and Andrew Morgan to install a new docking adapter on the International Space Station’s (ISS) Harmony module today. The six-and-a-half-hour spacewalk will begin at 5:50 pm IST on August 21. The mission is the part of ISS Expedition 60/61 crew. The experts that will participate in the briefing include International Space Station program manager Kirk Shireman, NASA spacewalk flight director Scott Stover and Scott Stover lead spacewalk officer Scott Stover.How to watch LIVE stream? The event will be live streamed by the space agency from 6:30 am EDT. Interested can also watch the briefing on NASA Television or the space agency’s website. The mission is being done for installation of International Docking Adapter-3 (IDA-3) to Pressurized Mating Adapter-3 on the station’s Harmony module. During the spacewalk, the spacesuit with red stripes will be worn by Hague, who will be extravehicular crew member 1 (EV1). Extravehicular crew member 2 (EV2) Morgan will wear the suit with no stripes. “On Wednesday, August 21, spacewalkers Nick Hague and Andrew Morgan will be exiting the station at around 8:20 am EDT to finish the installation job of the IDA-3. The two men will be working for around six-and-half hours outside the Harmony module space-facing port routing cables and configuring the IDA-3 for the preparation of the arrival of future SpaceX and Boeing crew vehicles,” NASA said in its blog."IDA-3 will provide a second docking port to the International Space Station to accommodate the future arrivals of Boeing CST-100 Starliner and SpaceX Crew Dragon commercial crew spacecraft. The docking port was launched to the station last month on a SpaceX Dragon on the company’s 18th commercial cargo resupply services mission to the station,” NASA said.
