After renaming Faizabad as Ayodhya, UP government to ban liquor and meat in district

Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday approved renaming of names of Faizabad and Allahabad divisions to Ayodhya and Prayagraj divisions respectively. Moreover, following local seers raised a demand to ban the consumption of non-vegetarian and liquor in the Ayodhya district, the state government is likely to declare the newly renamed district as well as Mathura as the cities of pilgrimage destinations.
