Amit Shah replaces Rajnath Singh, becomes no. 2 in Modi government

By giving the Home Ministry to Amit Shah, PM Modi has made his preferences very clear. Rajnath Singh has been given the portfolio of Defence Ministry and will replace Nirmala Sitharaman. Jaishankar, who surprised many by his induction in the new Cabinet, has been made the new External Affairs Minister. Jaishankar replaced Sushma Swaraj, who opted out from contesting elections citing poor health.
