Annual Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra heads to Gundicha Temple in Puri

Amid the blowing of conches and beating of cymbals, the 141st annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath started from Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri on Saturday. Lakhs of devotees, who waited outside the temple gates to take a glimpse of their God, took part in the Rath Yatra. The pulling of the three chariots- Nandighosa (Jagannath), Taladhwaja (Balabhadra) and Devadalana (Subhadra) - began after performing the Mangala alati, Mailam, Tadapa Lagi and other rituals at the Puri temple.
