The third day of Chaitra Navaratri worships Lord Chandraghanta, the third form of Shakti. In general language, she is also called Bhagwati Chandhghanta. Goddess Chandraghanta has a semi-moon on her head. Therefore she is given the name Chandharghanta. On the third day of Chaitra Navaratri, devotees worship Mata Chandraghantabecause it is said that by worshiping Mata Chandraghanta, devotees get luck, long life, and makes the devotees free from illness and diseases. According to the scriptures, it is also said that worshiping of Mata Chandraghanta makes the devotees free from the sufferings and sins of life.
