CPM workers vandalise Jana Sangh founder SP Mukherjee’s statue in Bengal

Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) workers vandalised and blackened the statue of Bhartiya Jana Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mukherjee in Kolkata's Kalighat area in West Bengal on Wednesday. The incident comes after the statue of Periyar was vandalised by two BJP workers at a municipal corporation in Tamil Nadu’s Vellore on Tuesday evening. Earlier on Monday, the statue of Russian communist revolutionary Vladimir Lenin was razed in Tripura.
