Death count rises to 78 in hooch tragedy, no arrest so far

The death count in hooch tragedy rose to over 78 in districts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. According to media reports, maximum number of people died in two adjoining in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar and UP’s Saharanpur. Saharanpur has witnessed 30 deaths, while 16 people victimised in Balupur. The death count is on rise as many people are yet reportedly in serious conditions. Meanwhile, police in both state, so far, failed to arrest accused spurious liquor sellers.
