Delhi court orders ED to begin attaching Vijay Mallya's properties

Delhi's Patiala House Court on Tuesday directed attachment of liquor baron Vijay Mallya's property in connection with a money laundering case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) will begin attaching the properties under Section 83 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Section 83 of the Criminal Procedure Code mandates attachment of the property of an absconder. Earlier a Delhi court had declared Mallya as a proclaimed offender for evading summons.
