Devastating flood battered Southern and Western parts of India. The flood situation worsened in Kerala, Karnataka and Maharashtra. Kerala is battered by heavy rains with landslips and floods wreaking havoc claiming two lives in Wayanad. A massive landslip has been reported from Meppadi in the hilly Wayanad district. Over two lakh people have been evacuated to safer places due to the floods that have wreaked havoc in five districts of Western Maharashtra, the worst hit being the districts of Sangli and Kolhapur.
