Petrol and diesel prices in Delhi touched record-breaking high on Tuesday (today) as it rose to Rs 79.31 per litre and Rs 71.34 respectively. The fuel prices in the national capital and across the country recorded sharp rise for the eighth consecutive day owing to the sharp fall of the rupee and the sudden hike in crude oil rates in the international market. The petrol rates were hiked by 16 paise per litre, while the diesel rates witnessed the rise of 19 paise. Fuel prices in Delhi are the cheapest in comparison to other major cities due to lower sales tax.
