Haryana government passes death penalty bill for rapists of girls under 12 years

The Haryana Assembly on Thursday passed a bill encouraging death penalty to those who were found guilty of raping minor girls below the age of 12 years old. The state is the third to pass this bill after Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. The law will be amended under Section 376, which relates to rape, Section 354, which relates to assault or criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty, and Section 354D (2) (stalking) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
