Heat wave: Delhi's Palam records highest April temperature in 49 years

On the first day of May itself, the temperature seems to have attained the maxima in North India. In Delhi temperature has notched the 45-degree Celsius mark. The Meteorological Department has issued the warning of intense heat for one week. The Gujarat government has issued 'Orange alert' for the next two days as mercury rises in several parts on the state.
