Himachal Pradesh: Evacuation of stranded people underway

The Assistant District Magistrate (ADM) of Kullu in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday said that people stranded in different parts of Lahaul will be airlifted to the Stingri helipad. Heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh have claimed eight lives and injured three even as the water level in the Beas dam breached the danger mark on Tuesday. Ten of the 12 districts in the state have been affected by flash floods and landslides. As many as 378 roads, 213 in Shimla zone, 49 in Mandi zone, 29 in Hamirpur zone and 86 in the Kangra zone were closed.
