IMD Issues Red Alert As Heavy Rains Lash Mumbai

Continuous downpours have caused waterlogging and traffic snarls in Mumbai. The weather department issued ‘red alert’ and has asked the authorities to be prepared to handle any situation. Earlier, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation announced that the schools will remain closed on Wednesday. Low visibility was also reported from areas in and around Eastern Expressway. Similar conditions prevailed in Powai area.
