Indian brides celebrate Karva Chauth 2015

Karva Chauth also known as Karak Chaturthi. Karva or Karak refers to the earthen pot through which water offering, known as Argha, is made to the moon. Karva is very significant during Puja and it is also given as Dan to the Brahmin or any eligible woman. The festival is more symbolic in nature. The festival traditionally kept to pray for your husband’s long life, is not so much about fasting. Its also about celebration of sorts, of the institution of marriage in India.
