Retired Indian army officer, GD Bakshi speaking to News Nation said, "Politics should not be played over the designation of Masood Azhar as a global terrorist. There is a bipartisan consensus on issues like national security." Bakshi also lambasted China for its previous holds on the designation of Masood Azhar. On the question of whether the current government should be credited for this achievement, GD Baskhi responded, "One who has responsibility should be credited for the decision making"
