Jammu and Kashmir: One militant killed in Anantnag encounter

An encounter ensued between security forces and militants in Chadoora area of Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district in the wee hours of Thursday. Forces were locked in a gun battle with militants hiding in a village, the police official said, adding that there were no reports of casualties so far. Two other encounters broke out between militants and security forces in Anantnag and Noorbagh area of Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar city. While one militant has been eliminated during the Anantnag encounter, two others have been believed to be trapped during the exchange of fire in Noorbagh on outskirts of Srinagar city.
