Kerala Floods: PM announces Rs 500 crore relief package

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a financial assistance of Rs 500 crore as a relief measure to the flood hit Kerala, after conducting an aerial survey of the massive loss and destruction in the state. Prime Minister also chaired a meeting with Governor P Sathasivam, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and other officials. The life in Kerala has been hit hard by the unprecedented flood following incessant rains that also triggered landslides, claiming around 325 lives.
