Kinnar Akhada to take part in Kumbh Mela 2019, will share culture of transgenders

For the first time in the history, Kinnar Akhada is going to be a significant part of Kumbh Mela, the mass Hindu pilgrimage of faith held once in every 12 years. In 2019, as many as 2,500 transgender monastics and seers will take part in the Kumbh Mela under the banner of the Kinnar Akhada.The Kumbh Mela is scheduled to be held between January 15 and March 4 on the banks of the Sangam in Allahabad.
