Maharashtra celebrates Janmashtami with 'Dahi Handi'

Janmashtami 2018 is celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm in different parts of Mumbai. The 'Dahi Handi Utsav' is a traditional ritual that has become an integral part of Janmashtami, especially in Mumbai since 1907. People climb on each other back to break a pot filled with butter and curd. On Monday this scene can be witnessed in many regions, including Dadar, Andheri, Borivali, among others.
