Monsoon rains claim over 500 lives in India, as buildings collapse, streets flood

At least 500 people have died in monsoon rains which have caused houses and roofs to collapse while several areas have been hit by floods in the northern regions of India. Weather officials have predicted more rains in the next 48 hours in Uttar Pradesh as people continue to struggle due to incessant rainfall.
