MP elections: Congress leader attempts to suicide after denying ticket to contest

Furious over the denial of ticket to contest in the ensuing Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Congress leader Prem Singh Kushwah attempted to suicide in Gwalior district on Friday. Kushwah, a former Congress general secretary, took the extreme step while consuming poisonous substance. He was taken to a nearby hospital and is said to be in stable condition.
