Mumbai: Four accused in illegal possession of explosive devices sent to ATS custody

A special UAPA court remanded Vaibhav Raut, Sharad Kalaskar, Sudhanva Gondhalekar and Shrikant Pangarkar, who were arrested on August 9 over illegal possession of explosive devices and firearms, to the custody of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) till September 3. The arrested four were charged under the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. According to the investigating agency, the arrested men were targeting the Sunburn festival in Pune last year. ATS also claimed that the group was conspiring to set-off a bomb at Belgaum theatres, where the controversial film Padmaavat was screening.
