Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi’s urging criminals not to commit crimes during the period of ‘Pitru Paksa’ received criticism from the Opposition party in the state. With folded hands, Modi said, “All of you commit crimes on the other days and keep the police on their toes but at least for these 15-16 days don't do anything that tarnishes the name of Bihar, Gaya, and gives people a reason to complain.†Meanwhile, the leader of Opposition party in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav slammed Modi for his comments and calling them ‘shameless’. A fortnight-long Pitru Paksha Mela is being organised annually in Gaya to pay homage to their ancestors.
