Newly-born dies minutes after woman forced to deliver outside Gurugram Civil Hospital
In yet another case of medical apathy, a woman was forced to deliver baby outside Gurugram's Civil Hospital on Thursday. With no doctor to treat, the newly-born died minutes after the delivery in an ambulance of the hospital. Angry over the entire matter, the woman's husband said, " As a poor man, I cannot do anything but to rely on the Press and ask for justice. I have become a victim of medical apathy. I do not want others to face the same fate." It seems like the cases of medical horror have refused to die down in Gurugram. Last week, a similar case came into light after a woman gave birth to her child in the washroom of the government hospital. On February 9, a pregnant woman was denied treatment in Gurugram hospital after she failed to show her Aadhaar card. The instances showcase the lack of accountability, apathy and inhumanity in the public healthcare system of Gurugram.
