On Balasaheb's Birth Anniversary, Raj Thackeray Unveils MNS's New Flag
News Nation Bureau 23 January 2020, 03:21 PM
A change of flag and the public display of a Hindutva icon's image at a Thursday party meeting indicate a likely ideological shift for Raj Thackeray's 14-year-old Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). The colour was changed from saffron, blue and green to just saffron, while the Raj mudra in the flag was used during Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj rule. The image makeover has been timed to coincide with the birth anniversary of Bal Keshav Thackeray, founder of the Shiv Sena and Raj's uncle.
