Opposition parties demand discarding EVM ahead of 2019 elections

Amid the Bharat Bandh or Nationwide protest by the opposition parties for the increasing fuel prices in India, another demand from the oppositions have been prompted. Seventeen opposition parties have come together to make a fresh, concerted demand that voters in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections exercise their franchise by stamping the ballot paper, not pressing the button, according to leaders of several parties familiar with the developments.
