People celebrate ‘Chhari wali Holi’ with great zest in Gokul

Pre-Holi celebrations have been started in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura. Huge numbers of people have celebrated a ‘Phoolon wali Holi’ (Holi with flowers) in Braj. People also celebrated ‘Chhari wali Holi’ where women playfully beat men by sticks. Mathura and adjoining regions start Holi celebrations weeks before the colour festival. Devotees embark musical procession starting from the temples to the river banks in Mathura.
